Producing quality paintings seems to be quite fickle at times.

I have to admit that I have been struggling to do just that, over the past five years or so, due to nagging back pains and as many people know, it just about affects everything.

This year, after a long wait to see  a specialist at the  Pain Clinic, I am much better, and lo and behold, my painting results have seen an  improvement. Well, I think so anyway.

The new works include landscapes, seascapes, boats, moorland, harbour scenes as well as a few far away places such as Ibiza and Formentera and Majorca

Also, I have switched back to producing pastel paintings again, as well as my usual watercolours. The trouble is, I am now more reluctant to see my originals sold, so I have started to get into Giceé  prints, the newest, top quality printing method. My ‘Tamar Bridges Sunset’ is such a print.‘ I am also creating other limited edition prints from several other paintings at the exhibition. My nudist beach painting has already sold,  but it will also be printed. Most of the originals will be on display, and also for sale.

Prices range from £75 -£250

A good place for a walk

The old Mount Batten fortress overlooks Plymouth Sound and must have been an important landmark for shipping. Research into my shipwreck poster lead me to believe that many early ships grounded here on the rocks ,after being swept around the Sound in heavy weather. The creation of the Plymouth Breakwater in the early 19th century changed all this.

‘Painting pictures for me is experimenting with new techniques, not getting tied down by one type of subject, one ever recurring obsession. Art is mainly about originality, trying new things out and always on the lookout to learn from others’
